Daegu Seodong Middle School switches to remote classes after one student tests positive for COVID-19
As of midnight on the 18th, Daegu region's cumulative confirmed cases reach 7,120, with 2 new cases added the previous day
On the 16th, Lee Jong-woon, principal of Daegu Girls' High School, along with the student council president and four others, visited Suseong District Office in Daegu to deliver thank-you notes written on Post-it notes by about 350 students to the public health center's medical volunteer team and health administration team for their efforts in COVID-19 prevention.

According to Daegu City on the 18th, as of midnight, the cumulative number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in the Daegu area was counted at 7,120.
A man in his 70s residing in Dong-gu was classified as a contact of an attendee (confirmed on the 15th) of the Chilgok Sanyangsam (Jangnoesam) business briefing and was tested, receiving confirmation of infection on the 17th. Also, a second-year student attending Seodong Middle School in Dalseong-gun did not attend school due to cold and flu symptoms and was tested, resulting in a positive diagnosis on the 17th.
Health authorities conducted COVID-19 diagnostic tests on 81 second-year students and staff who had close contact with the confirmed student; 79 tested negative. The remaining two received an 'undecided' result and are awaiting retest results.
