Sony to Launch 'PS5' on November 12… Price Set at $499
Digital Edition Version Priced at $399
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Sony will unveil its next-generation console game 'PlayStation 5 (PS5)' on November 12.
According to IT media The Verge and others on the 17th, Sony officially announced the PS5 release date and price at a digital showcase held that day.
The standard version of the PS5, which includes a disc drive, is priced at $499, while the digital edition version, which allows games to be enjoyed via download without a disc, is priced at $399.
Korea is included in the first wave of release countries along with the United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand. The PS5 release price in Korea will be announced later. The second wave of releases is scheduled for November 19 in the remaining countries.

With the release of the PS5, a showdown is expected with Microsoft's (MS) next-generation console Xbox Series X·S. MS recently announced that the Xbox Series X·S will be released on November 10. The Series X is priced at $499, the same as the standard PS5 version.
