"Hi Bixby, turn on Shinhan Touch Payment"... Shinhan Card launches 'Voice Touch Payment'
Shinhan PayFAN Touch Payment,
Samsung AI Platform Bixby-Based Voice Payment Service Introduced
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card is launching a new service that enables offline payments via voice commands.
Shinhan Card announced on the 16th that it plans to launch the 'Voice Touch Payment' service on the 21st, which allows offline payments through voice interaction by linking with Samsung Electronics' artificial intelligence (AI) platform, Bixby.
The Touch Payment service is a mobile device offline simple payment service developed last year in collaboration with Samsung Electronics, making it the first among credit card companies. With just a smartphone, users can conveniently use the Shinhan PayFAN application (app) to make payments at all offline merchants without a physical card.
With the introduction of the voice payment service, Shinhan PayFAN customers using Samsung smartphones equipped with Bixby can execute the payment menu with a single voice command. They only need to say one of the following: "Hi Bixby, turn on Shinhan Touch Payment," "Hi Bixby, connect Shinhan Touch Payment," "Hi Bixby, start Shinhan Touch Payment," or "Hi Bixby, open Shinhan Touch Payment."
Through Voice Touch Payment, visually impaired individuals can more easily use offline mobile payments. This aligns with Shinhan Financial Group's ESG strategy, which aims to realize social coexistence activities and financial inclusiveness.
To commemorate the launch of this service, Shinhan Card and Samsung Electronics have prepared various events. From the 21st to October 16th, customers using Touch Payment via Bixby will receive prizes such as GS25 convenience store gift certificates and My Shinhan Points.
