Lee Gye-yang, Former Chairman of Gwangju YMCA, Appointed as Principal of Gwangju Pureun Kkum Creative School
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Lee Gyeyang, principal of Mujin Ilum School (former chairman of Gwangju YMCA), recently took office as the 3rd principal of Gwangju Pureun Dream Creative School.
Gwangju Pureun Dream Creative School is an alternative education institution under the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education.
The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education entrusted 'Gwangju Pureun Dream Creative School' to Gwangju YMCA, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year, through a public recruitment process. Principal Lee took office on the 1st and began operations.
In his inauguration speech, Principal Lee stated, "The educational aim of Pureun Dream Creative School is to help students discover their talents, aptitudes, dreams, and passions by drawing out their potential and possibilities through education, and to train them to grow into independent individuals." He added, "We will provide students with new experiences and reflections that are difficult to have in regular schools, such as life and philosophy, life peace, bicycle education, creative writing, and project-based classes, to inspire their lives."
He continued, "Going forward, we will create opportunities for the school community and local residents to share these perspectives and philosophies together."
