[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Lee Chang-woo) announced on the 15th that it will make every effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 community infections following the occurrence of a confirmed case at Seoul Technical High School (hereinafter Seoul Gonggo).
The confirmed case is a student residing in another local government area who underwent a COVID-19 test at the Dongjak-gu Public Health Center the previous day and was notified of the positive result this morning.
The district held an emergency meeting in the morning and immediately set up a situation room and an on-site screening clinic within Seoul Gonggo, conducting comprehensive mobile specimen testing for about 400 classmates and staff members of the confirmed patient.
Additionally, the health center’s disinfection task force and the Dongbang support teams from Daebang-dong, Sindaebang 1·2-dong, and Sangdo 3-dong were deployed to complete disinfection of the entire school and surrounding areas.
Mayor Lee Chang-woo of Dongjak-gu visited Seoul Gonggo immediately after the case was confirmed to inspect the on-site disinfection situation and instructed follow-up measures to prevent further spread.
Along with this, since May, the district has formed a school disinfection support team involving Dongjak-gu Office, Dongjak-gu Public Health Center, and Dongjak-Gwanak Office of Education to respond to emergencies in case of confirmed cases, establishing a hotline to promptly handle COVID-19 outbreak situations.

Mayor Lee Chang-woo of Dongjak-gu said, “The district will do its best to prevent further spread for the health and safety of residents,” and added, “Although social distancing in the metropolitan area was somewhat eased to Level 2 starting from the 14th, please do not let your guard down and strictly adhere to personal quarantine rules.”
