MINI Launches Two Limited Editions: JCW Clubman and 3-Door Cooper S
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] Premium compact car brand MINI Korea announced on the 15th that it will launch two limited edition models: the MINI JCW Clubman and the MINI 3-Door Cooper S.
'Limited to 20 units' MINI JCW Clubman T51 Edition
First, the 'MINI JCW Clubman T51 Edition,' limited to 20 units, is a model that pays homage to the 'Cooper T51,' which won first place at the 1959 Monaco Grand Prix.
The Cooper T51 was the first rear-engine racing car to win in F1 history, driven by legendary F1 drivers Sir Stirling Moss and Bruce McLaren, among others.
This edition, created to honor the pioneering spirit of John Cooper, founder of the Cooper Car Company and motorsports pioneer, and the F1 victory, is based on the MINI JCW Clubman and features various custom accessories throughout the interior and exterior that evoke racing DNA.
Red stripes are applied to the bumper, air intakes, and trunk, creating a strong and sporty atmosphere, while decals simulating carbon fiber are added to the bonnet and lower side doors to emphasize luxury. Additionally, the side scuttles and aluminum parts on the door sills are engraved with the model name T51, highlighting the exclusivity of this high-performance edition.
Along with the Thunder Grey exterior color, Melting Silver roof and red mirror caps, Piano Black exterior package, 19-inch JCW Circuit Spoke two-tone wheels, and MINI Yours Piano Black illuminated interior style, the edition adds unique character and sophistication typical of a high-performance model.
The powertrain delivers performance befitting a high-performance model. The new 4-cylinder JCW TwinPower Turbo engine combined with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission produces a maximum output of 306 horsepower and a peak torque of 45.9 kg·m, marking the first MINI edition to achieve these figures. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. The price of the MINI JCW Clubman T51 Edition is 61.2 million KRW (including VAT, with a 3.5% reduction in individual consumption tax).
MINI 3-Door Kings Road Edition... Unique Design Differentiation
Alongside the MINI JCW Clubman T51 Edition, the 'MINI 3-Door Kings Road Edition' will also be released, limited to 40 units.
The name Kings Road Edition is inspired by Kings Road, a representative shopping street in Chelsea, southwest London, known as the birthplace of young fashion in the late 1960s. Based on the MINI 3-Door Cooper S, the MINI Kings Road Edition expresses MINI's classic yet unique sensibility through various custom accessories and the MINI Yours trim.
The exterior features a Midnight Black body color with a Melting Silver roof and mirror caps, and 18-inch Cone Spoke wheels, with chrome lines placed throughout to highlight elegance. Additionally, a silver diamond pattern, creating a refined atmosphere with restrained glamour, is applied to the bonnet, roof, and lower side doors.
