The death toll increased by one from the previous day, totaling 188. A 91-year-old grandmother with underlying conditions such as spinal stenosis ultimately passed away at Daegu Medical Center at 4:47 a.m. on the 14th, 20 days after being diagnosed as positive.

This grandmother was a hospitalized patient at Bobaeyoyang Hospital in Seo-gu, where the COVID-19 spread from the Gwanghwamun rally in Seoul on the 15th of last month. She initially tested negative on the first test the next day but was confirmed positive after a retest five days later and had been receiving treatment. This is the first COVID-19 death in Daegu in 54 days since July 22.
