World-Class Company Job Fair... "Targeting 560 New Hires"
Held from 16th to 25th... 66 Excellent Small, Medium, and Public Institutions Participating
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 15th that they will hold the '2020 Leading Korea World Class Job Festival' online job fair from the 16th to the 25th.
This is to support excellent small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies struggling to secure talent due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and to provide employment opportunities to young job seekers.
A total of 66 companies will participate in the fair, including 51 SMEs and mid-sized companies and 15 public institutions. The goal is to hire 560 new employees.
Participating companies include world-class companies, excellent technology innovation companies such as Advanced Technology Centers (ATC), and companies with excellent labor-management culture such as youth-friendly small giants.
The average starting annual salary of participating companies is 35.07 million KRW (based on new university graduates), which is at the level of public enterprises.
This year, with the increase in demand for non-face-to-face and digital transformation due to COVID-19, hiring demand has expanded in related information and communication technology (IT) and electrical and electronic fields.
By job category, recruitment is expected to be in the order of research and development positions (about 250 people, 62.5%), sales positions (about 100 people, 25.0%), and office positions (about 50 people, 12.5%).
The fair will focus on providing programs that can enhance the hiring effectiveness for job seekers. A non-face-to-face platform will be applied throughout the hiring process from recruitment consultation to interviews to strengthen communication between participating companies and job seekers.
Support will be provided to prepare for the recently changed hiring process through recruitment briefings in the form of talk concerts, live employment lectures, and non-face-to-face professional consulting.
Seong Yun-mo, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, said, "I hope that young talents full of passion and enthusiasm will be able to freely realize their dreams and hopes at excellent SMEs and mid-sized companies through this job fair."
Park Young-sun, Minister of SMEs and Startups, said, "I support our youth to meet world-class small giants at this job fair and become new leaders in the post-COVID era."
The opening ceremony on the 16th will be replaced by a video. You can register and participate in the fair through the fair's website and mobile page.
