Gangdong-gu Provides Up to 1.19 Million KRW for Traditional Korean Medicine Treatment for Infertile Couples
Up to 1.19 Million Won Support for Traditional Korean Medicine Infertility Treatment Costs... Easing Economic Burden for Infertile Couples
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon) is conducting a support project for traditional Korean medicine infertility treatment costs to reduce the economic burden on infertile couples struggling with pregnancy and to help achieve a healthy pregnancy.
Eligible applicants are Gangdong-gu residents who have lived in Seoul for more than six months as of the application date, and any infertile couples with unexplained infertility (female under 41 years old) who wish to conceive naturally, including common-law marriages, can apply.
If selected as a beneficiary, applicants can choose a designated Korean medicine clinic within Seoul for treatment. The designated clinics in Gangdong-gu are nine locations: ▲Jiseong Korean Medicine Clinic ▲Kim Jaeseok Korean Medicine Clinic ▲Gugu Korean Medicine Clinic ▲Kyunghee 123 Korean Medicine Clinic ▲Kyunghee Dagang Korean Medicine Clinic ▲Hamsora Korean Medicine Clinic ▲Happy Korean Medicine Clinic ▲Jo Jeongrae Korean Medicine Clinic ▲Kyunghee Hanbit Korean Medicine Clinic.
The support includes traditional Korean medicine infertility treatment (3 months) such as herbal medicine, counseling, and program operation, covering 90% of the herbal medicine costs up to a maximum of 1,190,000 KRW. Support can be received up to twice per year with one application per year. Pre- and post-treatment tests and counseling for traditional medicine treatment are also provided.
Applications can be made by visiting the Gangdong-gu Public Health Center with the results of a self-screening test conducted on the Seoul Pregnancy and Childbirth Information Center website, along with the required documents and identification.
Mayor Lee Jeong-hoon of Gangdong-gu said, “We hope this support for traditional Korean medicine treatment costs will ease the economic burden on infertile couples and give them the courage to overcome infertility,” adding, “We will continue to promote administrative services for healthy pregnancy and childbirth.”
