The Ministry of Science and ICT will hold the '2020 Youth Science and Technology Job Fair' from the 15th to October 7th to support the employment success of young STEM graduates.
In response to changes in the job market due to COVID-19, this fair will be held online with a non-face-to-face, customized recruitment process.
The online fair, expanded in scale and extended to three weeks to allow more young STEM talents to participate, can be accessed through the official website.
A total of 192 technology innovation companies, including 4th industrial revolution companies, materials-parts-equipment companies, and companies designated as specialized research personnel, which have recently contributed to solving national issues, will participate and plan to hire about 1,000 people.
Two startup companies from UNIST (President Lee Yong-hoon) will also participate in the fair. The companies are CasCure Therapeutics Co., Ltd. and Core Dot Today Co., Ltd.
CasCure Therapeutics Co., Ltd. is a company developing innovative anticancer drugs. Core Dot Today Co., Ltd. is a faculty startup company providing data solutions that combine the latest technology and big data, with Professor Jang Bong-su from the Department of Mathematical Sciences and Dr. Kim Kyung-hoon as key personnel.
The fair will open on the 15th with an online opening ceremony via YouTube Live. The ceremony will include sharing experiences from current mentors for young STEM job seekers and providing employment know-how from HR managers.
The fair will also provide AI employment support and post-recruitment linkage services tailored to the individual tendencies and capabilities of young STEM talents.
The customized company matching service recommends company recruitment information suitable for job seekers' tendencies and capabilities among the 192 participating companies. Additionally, for young STEM talents unfamiliar with non-face-to-face interviews, AI-based mock interview opportunities will be provided.
Furthermore, one-on-one consulting and recruitment linkage support through professional career counselors will continue for young STEM talents.
Jung Byung-sun, 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, "Young science and technology talents are the future and competitiveness of science and technology and key talents to lead the Digital New Deal. In the situation where employment has shrunk due to COVID-19, I hope this fair will be an opportunity for young people to get jobs at excellent technology companies and for companies to secure the necessary talents."
