Government Announces 23 Contributors to the Development of Print Culture
Im In-Young, CEO of SKCNP, Receives Presidential Citation
Jojungseok, CEO of Daewon Munhwasa (age 71), will receive the Order of Cultural Merit. On the 14th, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced twenty-three individuals honored for their contributions to the development of printing culture. Among them are one recipient of the Order of Cultural Merit, one Presidential Citation, one Prime Minister Citation, and twenty Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Citations.
CEO Jo, who is awarded the Order of Cultural Merit, was recognized for his contributions to the development of the printing and publishing culture industry, including founding the publishing company Changjo Munhwa. He served as president of the Korea Printing Culture Association and resolved issues related to font copyrights. By discovering and distributing free fonts and developing integrated Chinese character fonts for Korea, China, and Japan, he solved long-standing problems in the printing industry. He also contributed to the joint development and competitiveness enhancement of the printing industry by publishing monthly magazines to adapt to changing environments.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism explained, "He has made significant efforts toward the joint development of the printing culture industry and the unity of printing professionals, including serving as the organizing chairman of the 2016 World Printing Conference. He also contributed to improving industry technology and competitiveness by organizing industrial inspection teams to participate in international printing exhibitions held in Germany, Japan, China, and other countries."
Im Inyoung, CEO of SKCNP (age 66), who will receive the Presidential Citation, was recognized for his efforts to enhance the quality of printed materials and develop an eco-friendly printing industry. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism listed his achievements, stating, "He established printing facilities that directly produce all processes from prepress to bookbinding and produced over 1,000 high-quality booklets and printed materials annually."
CEO Im is also known for introducing digital printers that respond to print-on-demand (POD) in the early stages of its adoption in the domestic market. He built a system for producing small quantities of diverse printed materials, elevating the printing culture industry to a new level. The Ministry added, "He created an eco-friendly printing environment by using soybean oil ink and recycled paper. His participation in the work-study dual system and provision of practical training sites at workplaces positively influenced the training of printing personnel."

The Prime Minister Citation goes to Jang Gilho, CEO of Seongil Jeonsan Information (age 70), who has worked to improve printing productivity and preserve and promote ancient printing culture. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister Citations are awarded to Jang Jinwon, CEO of Seongeun Jigi Printing (age 57); Jeong Sanghyuk, CEO of Duseon Industry Ansan Branch (age 46); Kim Jeongjo, CEO of Korea E&X (age 63); and Won Yongil, CEO of Geosan Printing (age 54).
