On the 14th, the FKI announced that Chairman Huh urged member companies through a letter to pay subcontracting fees early and to promote coexistence with rural communities by sending Chuseok gifts made from "our agricultural products."
Chairman Huh appealed, "Even amid the resurgence of COVID-19 and the hardships caused by the monsoon and typhoons, I ask our companies to fulfill their roles."
He added, "As we face the first holiday since the spread of COVID-19, please cooperate with quarantine authorities and walk together with subcontractors and rural communities. I hope this Chuseok will be a meaningful holiday where the business community overcomes difficulties together as a member of society through coexistence."
The FKI explained that this letter aligns with the recently discussed campaign to send Chuseok gifts and hopes to help restore the holiday atmosphere, which could be dampened by recommendations to refrain from traveling during Chuseok.
