Yeongdeungpo-gu Establishes Real-Time Waiting Status Information System for Civil Service Office
Avoiding Peak Hours Enables Fast and Efficient Civil Complaints Processing... Minimizing Face-to-Face Contact in Civil Service Offices Also Helps Prevent COVID-19
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chaehyunil) is providing a ‘Real-time Civil Service Waiting Status Information System’ on the district website, allowing residents visiting the civil service office to check the waiting status in advance.
The district explained that it created a system where the real-time waiting status of the civil service office can be checked anytime and anywhere via PC and mobile, encouraging residents to spread out their visit schedules and providing the number of people waiting and the call number.
The established system collects the civil service office’s queue waiting data into the internal administrative network and transmits the information to the district website through a linked relay server.
This service displays real-time queue waiting data for a total of 15 counters on the first floor civil service office of the district office, including integrated civil service issuance, passport application and issuance, family relationship registration, civil service issuance anywhere, construction and factory registration, publishing, culture, tourism permits, and telecommunication sales business.
It also visualizes and shows the smooth or congested situation at each civil service counter based on the number of people waiting, making it easy to understand at a glance.
The system construction began with the design start for the online queue ticket system development on July 20, completed the full program implementation in August, and officially opened the service on the 2nd of this month.
The waiting status can be easily checked without complicated procedures such as membership registration or identity verification by accessing the ‘Civil Service Guide’ → ‘Real-time Civil Service Waiting Status’ category in the top menu of the Yeongdeungpo-gu website.
Furthermore, it is expected to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by avoiding situations where many residents gather and wait in one place for a long time.
In July, the district remodeled the civil service office on the first floor of the main building to create a ‘One-stop Integrated Civil Service Office’ that handles a total of 65 types of registration and reporting tasks in one place, receiving great responses from residents. In addition to integrated civil service, the district continuously strives to improve satisfaction and convenience in civil service processing by providing spaces such as ‘Yeongdeungpo’s Library’ for reading, ‘Cafe Tium’ for enjoying coffee and beverages, and a nursing room for residents with infants and children.
