According to Geumsan County on the 11th, the deceased was a person in their 70s who tested positive for COVID-19 the day before and was receiving treatment at Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Cheonan before ultimately passing away. The deceased had shown symptoms such as pneumonia, fever, and cough since the 8th, and it is reported that the pneumonia symptoms worsened just before death.
Prior to this, on the 9th, two people?a caregiver in their 50s and a resident in their 70s?were confirmed positive at Seomgim Nursing Home, followed by seven additional confirmed cases on the 10th. The deceased was one of these confirmed cases.
Geumsan County Public Health Center conducted comprehensive testing of 46 people, including staff and residents of Seomgim Nursing Home, starting from 8 a.m. on the 10th, and completed disinfection and quarantine work on the building. Currently, the nursing home is under cohort-level management.

Moon Jeong-woo, the mayor of Geumsan County, stated, "Seomgim Nursing Home is currently under cohort-level isolation and management," adding, "Even families of staff and residents who are not directly related to the nursing home are voluntarily isolating, and we will do our best in quarantine efforts to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in the region."
