1-Person Household Support Project 'Seocho Single Single Project' Wins Grand Prize... 'Seocho Smart Senior Project' Wins Excellence Award
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Jo) participated in the '2020 National Basic Local Government Heads Manifesto Best Practice Competition' hosted by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters and won the grand prize and excellence award in the fields of income gap resolution and super-aging response, respectively, earning the honor of a double crown.
The 2020 National Basic Local Government Heads Manifesto Best Practice Competition is held annually by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters to discover and spread excellent pledge cases, and this year marked the 11th event.
This competition received a total of 353 cases nationwide across seven categories: ▲Job creation and employment improvement ▲Income gap resolution ▲Super-aging response ▲Climate and environment ▲Safety autonomy ▲Regional culture revitalization ▲Newsletters and broadcasting. Among them, 172 excellent cases that passed the first document screening competed in the final round.
The district presented the 'Seocho Single Single Project' in the income gap resolution category and won the grand prize, and presented the 'Seocho Smart Senior Project, Realizing Digital Inclusion!' in the super-aging response category, winning the excellence award.
The 1-person household support project 'Seocho Single Single Project,' which won the grand prize, was highly evaluated for contributing to building a social safety net and forming a community by providing customized support needed by various types of single-person households in an environment where single-person households are rapidly increasing due to reasons such as being unmarried, divorced, studying, or working.
To support the healthy and stable life of the rapidly increasing single-person households, the 'Seocho-gu 1-Person Household Support Ordinance' was enacted in December 2018.
Also, the 'Seocho 1-Person Household Support Center,' opened nationwide for the first time in March 2019, is promoting the 'Seocho Single Single Project,' which includes ▲Seoripul Health 119 (caregiving) ▲Seoripul Ddukddak-i (resolving daily inconveniences) ▲Seoripul Counselor (psychological counseling) ▲Seoripul Bodyguard (support for installation costs of home security systems, CCTV, videophones, etc.) ▲Seoripul Single Single Cultural Class (hobbies and leisure) ▲Seoripul Single Single Club (activity expense support).
Meanwhile, the 'Seocho Smart Senior Project,' which won the excellence award, was highly praised for playing a catalyst role in eliminating the digital information gap of the elderly, who are an information-vulnerable group, and promoting social participation and communication.
The 'Nutina-mu Shelter,' which serves as the central hub of the Seocho Smart Senior Project, is a 'new concept senior center' where culture, leisure, health, and welfare are enjoyed in one place. It operates various specialized programs tailored to the elderly's perspective, such as an IT experience zone, health tech, psychological counseling center, mental health center, art hall (cinema), book cafe, and sauna, and provides jobs for the elderly through the Neulbom Cafe and bakery workshop.
Additionally, the Smart Senior IT Experience Zone operates artificial intelligence (AI robots), virtual reality (VR), and one-person media broadcasting to create an informatization experience environment so that the elderly are not excluded from the rapidly changing IT technology environment and supports various educational programs. In 2019 alone, it was a popular spot visited by over 10,000 residents aged 55 and older.
Furthermore, the 'Seocho ToktokC,' an elderly-exclusive kiosk education system, is a lifestyle-oriented program developed and patented for the first time nationwide by Seocho-gu.
It allows experience and education of nine types of unmanned devices (civil service documents, fast food, cinema, cafe, express bus, ATM, KTX, airport, hospital) on a single terminal.
