Temporary Introduction of Electronic Entry Logs at Dong Community Centers in Songpa-gu
Introduction of Electronic Entry Log (KI-Pass) from the 4th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) has introduced the electronic entry log (KI-Pass) to 27 community service centers in the district starting from the 4th, initiating a "Resident Safety (安心) Administration."
The electronic entry log (KI-Pass), developed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, is an entry log system using a one-time QR code.
The QR code issuing company and the Korea Social Security Information Service separate and temporarily store the information, so it is not possible to know who visited, when, or where.
Only when a confirmed case occurs, the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency combines the information to identify contacts and then disposes of it.
This allows safer management of visitors to public offices. In particular, it is expected to enable rapid and accurate epidemiological investigations and quarantine measures when COVID-19 cases occur.
All residents visiting the community service centers can enter after a temperature check and receiving an encrypted QR code on their smartphones, completing the authentication process.
For visitors who do not have smartphones or have difficulty using QR codes, a handwritten entry log will be operated in parallel.
Stored information and visit records are automatically deleted after 4 weeks and are used minimally for location information and contact tracing if necessary during future epidemiological investigations.
Although public offices are not required facilities for mandatory electronic entry log implementation, the district stated that due to concerns about inaccuracies in handwritten logs and risks of face-to-face contact, they decided to proactively introduce the system.

Songpa-gu Mayor Park Seong-su said, "With the extension of the strengthened social distancing level 2 measures, the introduction of the electronic entry log system is the minimum step to prevent the spread of COVID-19," adding, "Although it may be somewhat inconvenient, it is a measure to dispel privacy concerns and ensure each other's safety, so we ask for active cooperation."
