Dongmyeong University, Ranked 1st Among New Entrants in 'LiFE Project Evaluation'
Additional Funding Secured as a Result of the University Lifelong Education System Support Project

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Recently, in the annual evaluation of the ‘2020 University Lifelong Education System Support Project,’ Dongmyung University ranked first among five newly entered universities and second among ten universities in their first and second years.
With this achievement, Dongmyung University secured an additional support fund of 77.5 million KRW, which is 10% of the first-year support fund.
On the 8th, Dongmyung University (President Jeong Hong-seop) held a ‘University Lifelong Education System Support Project (LiFE) Annual Evaluation Results and Second Year Project Promotion Report Meeting’ in Room 307 of the University Headquarters Management Building.
President Jeong Hong-seop and key officials attended to report on the annual evaluation results of this project and the plans for the second year’s project promotion.
Dongmyung University was selected for the National Institute for Lifelong Education’s University Lifelong Education System Support Project in June and will receive 3.1 billion KRW over four years.
Earlier, on January 10, Dongmyung University recorded the highest employment rate (2018) of 71.8% among medium to large-sized general universities (with over 1,000 graduates) in the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions.
This year, Dongmyung University, which has set its specialization direction as an ‘AI-strong university,’ established the ‘AI Convergence College,’ an AI bachelor’s program, in the undergraduate curriculum starting from the 2021 academic year, the first among universities in the Busan area. From the 2022 academic year, it plans to expand AI convergence majors to all colleges.

In May, Dongmyung University was the only private university in Busan selected for the 4th Industrial Revolution Innovation Leading University Project and received a total of 2 billion KRW from the Ministry of Education until 2021. The university began nurturing talent in digital twin technology for autonomous driving V2V (Vehicle to Vessel), focusing on the College of Engineering’s Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, Department of Automotive Engineering, and Department of Mechanical Engineering.
