KT Builds 'Online Education Platform' for 11 Elementary Schools
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT is establishing a non-face-to-face online education platform in 11 elementary schools located in Seoul. This initiative aims to support public education, which has been struggling due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). It will be provided as a free pilot service in the second semester of this year.
On the 8th, KT announced that it will support this one-stop integrated education platform free of charge during the second semester. It enables integrated management of academic affairs including video classes, textbook production, attendance, and assignments. Teachers can manage their schedules, register class assignments, and handle attendance and other overall tasks in the ‘My Classroom’ section. Additionally, they can easily create educational content directly in the ‘Textbook Library.’ Through this, interactive video classes, VOD substitute classes, and assignment-based classes are also possible. During real-time video classes, group discussions can be held. Students can request or be granted speaking rights, and surveys or quizzes can be conveniently presented.
After completing the pilot service, KT plans to identify areas for improvement and officially commercialize the 'online education platform' next year. It is expected to be applicable not only to elementary, middle, and high schools but also universities, private academies, corporate in-house training services, and online activities of religious organizations.
