Suncheon-si, Call for Volunteer Essays on Flood Disaster Recovery Participation
The Sweat and Tears of Volunteers: Deep Stories Behind Flood Recovery in Hwangjeon and Gurye Regions
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) is soliciting essays from volunteers who wisely overcame the flood damage in the Hwangjeon and Gurye areas caused by last month's record heavy rain.
This contest was organized to collect vivid experiences of volunteers involved in flood recovery, widely share excellent cases of Suncheon-style flood overcoming, and wisely prepare for and overcome future disasters.
The contest content includes ▲ impressions felt during volunteer activities, ▲ cases, anecdotes, and exemplary examples of citizen cooperation and public-private cooperation in sharing and consideration, and ▲ current disaster response issues and suggestions for improvement, which can be freely written without format restrictions.
Those wishing to participate can download the application form from the Suncheon City Hall website and submit their story within one A4 page by mail or email.
Suncheon City will publish the selected essays in a booklet after screening, awarding about five outstanding works with Suncheon Love Gift Certificates worth 100,000 KRW, and participants will receive Suncheon Love Gift Certificates worth 10,000 KRW.
