Gwangyang City Holds Report Meeting on Next Year's Major Business Promotion Plans
Preparing for the Post-Corona Era: Proposing Various Future Growth Engines Including Development of Gubongsan Tourist Complex
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced on the 7th that it held the '2021 Major Business Promotion Plan Report Meeting' over two days starting from the 2nd at the city hall situation room.
The report meeting focused on departmental reports centered on 105 New Deal projects following the establishment of the 'Gwangyang-type Korean New Deal Comprehensive Plan,' 296 ongoing projects including pledges and current tasks, and 223 new projects, followed by a Q&A session to enhance execution capability.
The Gwangyang-type New Deal projects will invest 306.5 billion KRW in a total of 105 projects across three fields to strengthen digital, green, and social safety nets, including ▲ establishment of a drone-utilized industrial facility safety inspection demonstration support center ▲ creation of a Media-Art Wall that shines day and night ▲ operation of a regional ICT Innovation Square.
Additionally, in line with the social and economic structural changes in the post-COVID-19 era, new initiatives will be promoted such as ▲ the 'Re Project' to leap forward as a smart green economic city ▲ establishment of a mobile platform for the Gwangyang Love Gift Certificate ▲ contactless trade exchanges between international cities ▲ full-scale promotion of food tourism with the slogan "Gourmet Travel to Gwangyang" ▲ and the "Bboddeuk! Our Children's Lunch Tray Washing and Sterilization Project."
The city estimates a decrease in next year's revenue due to the economic impact of COVID-19 but plans to strive to secure national and provincial subsidies and appropriately utilize available resources to ensure efficient budget management.
The major business plans reported this time will be thoroughly reviewed and supplemented from multiple angles before being finally reflected in next year's budget.
Mayor Jeong Hyun-bok of Gwangyang emphasized, "In the post-COVID-19 era, we must work hard to promote core projects such as the Gwangyang-type New Deal with a completely different perspective so that our city can become the foundation for leaping forward as a 'smart green economic city.'"

Since next year marks the fourth year of the 7th elected term, we hope that projects proposed by citizens, including pledges promised to them, will be implemented without fail to enhance administrative trust."
