Hampyeong-gun Selected for General Rural Agricultural and Fishing Village Development Contest... Secures 11 Billion Won in Project Funding
[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-ik) announced on the 6th that it has been selected for the 2021 General Rural Agricultural and Fishing Village Development Contest Project hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, securing a total project cost of 11 billion KRW.
This is the largest achievement in contest projects achieved by the county this year, with national funding reaching 7.7 billion KRW, which is expected to somewhat revive the stagnant local economy.
The General Rural Agricultural and Fishing Village Development Project is a regional development project aimed at creating basic infrastructure and specialized development in rural areas.
The main purpose is to improve rural living conditions, such as enhancing the quality of convenience services and promoting resident harmony.
The projects selected this time are the ‘Rural New Vitality Plus Project’ and the ‘Wolya-myeon Basic Living Base Creation Project,’ which will be promoted from 2021 to 2024.
First, a total of 7 billion KRW will be invested in the Rural New Vitality Plus Project.
Through this project, the county plans to actively foster social economic communities in rural areas, establish a safe agricultural product production base, and innovate the agricultural product distribution system.
The county will also invest a total of 4 billion KRW in the Wolya-myeon Basic Living Base Creation Project.
With this project, the county intends to newly create the Dalbit Green Kids Playground and senior cultural spaces to strengthen cultural welfare functions for each generation.
