Sunchon National University Selected for 15 New Research Projects by National Research Foundation of Korea
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon National University announced on the 5th that 15 research projects were finally selected in the recently announced Korea Research Foundation's '2020 Basic Research Projects in Academic, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Science and Technology Fields.'
The 2020 Basic Research Projects in Academic, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Science and Technology Fields aim to expand South Korea's future capabilities by strengthening creative and challenging basic research and fostering excellent researchers, as well as enhancing universities' national research and development (R&D) performance and academic research capabilities.
The selected projects include △ Mid-career research in basic science and engineering fields (2 people: Professors Lee Mina, Kim Byung-chul), △ First research in basic science and engineering fields (Professor Kim Kyung-hee), △ Training the next generation in science and engineering fields (2 people: Researcher Ham Juri, Academic Research Professor Moon Hong-seok), △ Mid-career researcher support in academic and humanities and social sciences projects (2 people: Professors Kim Hoon-ho, Lee Kwang-bae), △ Humanities and social sciences academic research professors ‘Type B’ (7 people: Lecturers Jeong Gwang-ju, Kang Hyang-suk, Yoon Ju-young, Lee Jeong-geum, Lee Kyung-il, Ahn Myung-duk, Na Hyun-suk), and △ Training the next generation in academic and humanities and social sciences projects (Researcher Kim Cho-young), totaling 15 projects.
In particular, Suncheon National University received great momentum for the research activities of capable professors (lecturers) and researchers within the university, with 15 projects selected in the next-generation training project and basic research projects in science and engineering fields.
Going forward, the principal investigators at Suncheon National University selected for the projects will receive a total of about 900 million KRW over 1 to 3 years to actively conduct basic research in various fields such as ‘Research Utilizing Molecular Networks’ and ‘Adaptability Research of Secondary Batteries.’
