Changshin University Department of Nursing Earns 5-Year Accreditation in Nursing Education Evaluation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Choi Hyun-joo] Changshin University in Gyeongnam has obtained a "5-year accreditation" for its Bachelor of Nursing program in the "2020 First Half Nursing Education Accreditation Evaluation" conducted by the Korea Accreditation Board of Nursing Education. With this, Changshin University will continue to serve as a cradle for producing nurses for the next five years.
The Korea Accreditation Board of Nursing Education evaluates both quantitative and qualitative aspects related to the achievement of accreditation standards across six areas and 28 detailed items, including the university's vision and management system, curriculum, students, faculty, facilities and equipment, and educational outcomes. The Department of Nursing at Changshin University passed with excellent results in both document review and on-site evaluation.
The Department of Nursing was recognized for its communication efforts by sharing various news about the department with current students, alumni, industry, and parents through Changshin Nursing News, presenting educational goals and program learning outcomes. It also received high marks for efforts related to student safety education during clinical practice.
Dean Je Nam-ju of the Department of Nursing said, "We are grateful to be officially recognized for equipping students with the abilities and qualities required by the nation, society, and the nursing profession," adding, "We will continue to enhance the competitiveness of nursing education through ongoing curriculum improvements."
The nursing education accreditation evaluation system was introduced to promote qualitative development in nursing education and to systematically support and manage student outcomes.
