Dongmyung University (President Jeong Hong-seop), Department of Advertising and Public Relations (Department Head Professor Lee Jeong-gi) is editing the opening event into a video and conducting it online.
In March, when COVID-19 was at its peak, this department attracted nationwide attention in the university community with its non-face-to-face ‘phone mentoring,’ and this time they planned an ‘online opening general meeting.’
The online opening general meeting video will be edited and then released to students starting from the 7th through the campus LMS (Learning Management System) and YouTube.
On the 3rd, the department held an online opening general meeting in the Advertising and Public Relations Practice Room, Room 808 of the main building, with all full-time professors participating.
The opening general meeting is an official event held at the beginning of the semester where both professors and students attend to greet the new semester and share their aspirations.
In the previous semester, due to the impact of COVID-19 and restrictions on face-to-face classes, this event could not be held. This time, the Advertising and Public Relations faculty brought out the online opening general meeting card.
They decided to comfort students who cannot attend face-to-face classes and motivate their learning. During the approximately two-hour event starting at 1 p.m., the faculty introduced department regulations, curriculum, and class operation plans, and took time to convey affectionate words to students who could not be physically present.
Professor Han Eun-jung, who planned the opening general meeting, said, “The faculty participated in the filming with passion,” and added, “We hope this will be a small source of strength for students struggling due to COVID-19.”

Department Head Lee Jeong-gi said, “Professors are deeply considering communication with students, which is inevitably limited in online classes,” and added, “We are thinking about innovative and practical educational methods even in the COVID-19 era.”
