7 New COVID-19 Cases in Chungbuk...Total 138 Confirmed
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Seven new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Chungbuk.
According to Chungbuk Province on the 4th, three cases each were confirmed in Cheongju and Eumseong, and one case in Jincheon. They were found to have been infected through different transmission routes.
A resident of Jincheon, Mr. A (60), tested positive after visiting the Eumseong County Health Center upon hearing that his wife, who lives in Boryeong, Chungnam, was confirmed positive on the 3rd.
Mr. A had visited his wife's home on the 29th and 30th of last month and showed suspected COVID-19 symptoms such as headache and chills starting from the 1st of this month. His wife is one of the 20 confirmed cases at a kimchi manufacturing plant in Cheongyang County, Chungnam, where a cluster infection recently occurred.
Mr. B (40), residing in Eumseong, tested positive in a test conducted before the end of his self-quarantine after entering through Incheon Airport from Thailand on the 21st of last month. The health authorities stated that diagnostic tests are also being conducted on Mr. B's spouse and two children.
Mr. C (60), living in Sangdang-gu, Cheongju, was confirmed to have attended a Dongchunghacho business briefing in Buk-gu, Daegu, where a cluster infection occurred on the 3rd. Mr. C had a cough starting from the 2nd and was tested at Nam-gu Health Center in Daegu, where he was confirmed positive. The health authorities are investigating Mr. C's spouse and identifying additional contacts.
Mr. D (50), residing in Seowon-gu, Cheongju, is a contact related to the Narae Daycare Center in Cheongju and tested positive on the 3rd, being hospitalized at Cheongju Medical Center. Mr. D reportedly showed suspected symptoms such as fever, cough, chills, and muscle pain on the 1st and 2nd. One spouse and two children of Mr. D are undergoing additional diagnostic tests.
Mr. E (30) and Mr. F (30), residents of Eumseong, are overseas entrants from Japan and China, respectively. No contacts with others during their self-quarantine have been confirmed so far. The health authorities plan to hospitalize and isolate both at Cheongju Medical Center.
Mr. G (50), living in Seowon-gu, Cheongju, is confirmed to be the spouse of Chungbuk patient number 104, who was diagnosed positive on the 23rd of last month. Chungbuk patient 104 was found to be a close contact of Incheon Gyeyang-gu patient number 65.
