At the meeting, the development direction of social welfare facilities in Jinju City was discussed, and appreciation was expressed for the efforts and cooperation of the Jinju City Social Welfare Council in preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Jinju Mayor Jo Gyu-il said, “Although children and elderly people vulnerable to COVID-19 live in social welfare facilities, the fact that no confirmed cases have occurred is the result of the efforts of facility managers and workers. Thank you for actively cooperating with policies to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
He added, “We ask for your continued active cooperation in social distancing and compliance with quarantine rules, and to take more careful care of those who are marginalized and struggling during these tiring and difficult times due to COVID-19.”

The Jinju City Social Welfare Council was established in 2005 to contribute to the promotion and development of welfare in the local community. It carries out social welfare policy proposals, cooperative projects between social welfare institutions and organizations, discovery of marginalized groups, and social welfare resource linkage projects.
