According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 4th, three people in their 50s to 60s from Gumi, Gyeongsan, and Sangju who attended the Dongchunghacho briefing held in the basement level 1 of Dongwoo Building in Chilseong-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu on the 29th of last month tested positive for COVID-19. Also, the son in his 30s of a man in his 60s from Gumi tested positive after being notified of his father's confirmed case and undergoing specimen testing.
Accordingly, as of midnight on the 4th, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk region was counted at 1,430, an increase of 4 from the previous day.
According to health authorities, 25 people attended the Dongchunghacho briefing held in the basement level 1 of Dongwoo Building in Chilseong-dong, Buk-gu, Daegu on the 29th of last month, including 12 Daegu citizens and 13 residents from Gyeongnam and Gyeongbuk areas. Most attendees were reported to be in their 60s to 70s.
Among them, 9 out of 12 Daegu residents tested positive, and 2 tested negative. The remaining one person could not be contacted, and health authorities are working with the police to locate them.
The woman in her 60s residing in Nam-gu, Daegu, who is known to have hosted this briefing, visited Seoul on the 26th and 27th of last month and was found to have come into contact with participants of a downtown Seoul rally at that time. She was confirmed positive on the 1st, and her husband and children also tested positive.
