View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Homeplus Social Contribution Foundation ‘Homeplus e-Paran Foundation’ announced on the 4th that it donated daily necessities to support flood victims affected by this year’s heavy rains in collaboration with Korea P&G.
The donated daily necessities were prepared through the ‘Protecting Family Hygiene’ promotion jointly conducted by Homeplus and Korea P&G in May to strengthen social distancing and hygiene management amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Customers purchased products at a 50% discount, and a portion of the sales was donated, making it a kind of ‘good consumption’ campaign designed to allow large marts, manufacturers, and customers to participate in sharing together.
Due to the unprecedented long rainy season this year, many flood victims suffered damages, and especially with the resurgence of COVID-19, flood recovery has been very difficult. Therefore, Homeplus plans to deliver daily necessities worth a total of 200 million KRW, including P&G Downy laundry detergent, fabric softener, Oral-B toothbrushes, and Homeplus Signature wet wipes, to the flood-affected areas.
The donated items will be delivered to welfare facilities in flood-affected areas such as Gwangju (Ssangchon General Social Welfare Center), Gyeonggi (Hwaseong Volunteer Center), Gangwon (Korea Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities Donghae Branch), Chungnam (Cheonan Red Cross Volunteer Center, Seosan Social Welfare Association, Taean Social Welfare Association), and Gyeongbuk (Korean Red Cross Gyeongbuk Branch Sangju District Council).
