The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Youngheon, Head of Passenger Division at Asiana Airlines, and Han Jin-hyun, Executive Vice Chairman of the Trade Association.
Under this agreement, the Trade Association will identify the air travel demand of its member companies and provide administrative support necessary for charter flight promotion. Asiana Airlines plans to prioritize providing the Trade Association with charter flights as well as regular passenger and cargo transportation services.
Prior to signing this MOU, both parties have been jointly working to obtain entry approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China to expand operations on the Korea-China route. As a result, Asiana Airlines will be able to operate a charter flight on the Incheon?Chongqing route once a week (Fridays) from the 4th to the 25th.
Head Kim said, "Many Korean businesspeople are facing difficulties due to inter-country entry restrictions caused by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Although Asiana Airlines is also struggling to operate normal routes, as a Korean national carrier, we will make multifaceted efforts to protect national interests and assist export companies facing hardships."
