Korea Customs Service Maintains UNIPASS 'ISO 20000' Certification for 15 Years
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The electronic customs clearance system (UNI-PASS, hereinafter Uni-Pass) has passed the ISO 20000 certification audit by the British Standards Institution.
According to the Korea Customs Service on the 3rd, Uni-Pass was the first in the world to obtain ISO 20000 certification in the customs clearance field in 2006. With this certification, Uni-Pass has maintained the certification for 15 years, including the previous certification period.
ISO 20000 is an international standard for IT service management, including systematic operation, management, and security of information and communication services, announced by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in 2005. Certification requires passing an on-site audit process covering 15 items in 5 areas.

A Korea Customs Service official said, “By passing the ISO 20000 certification audit, Uni-Pass has once again proven the excellence of the system globally,” and added, “The Korea Customs Service will continue to improve and develop the service to lead international standards in the customs clearance field.”
