Recruitment of Participants for the 2nd Mobile Healthcare Program in Nam-gu, Gwangju
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Byeong-nae) announced on the 3rd that it is recruiting participants for the ‘Mobile Healthcare 2nd Program,’ which helps individuals improve their health management skills through a non-face-to-face method using information and communication technology (ICT).
Mobile healthcare is a health promotion program targeted at adults who have one or more health risk factors such as blood pressure, blood sugar, abdominal circumference, triglycerides, and cholesterol.
Participants can directly check their health status through the linkage between a smartphone app and a wearable smart band on the wrist, eliminating risk factors that harm health and enhancing their self-health management abilities.
Additionally, participants can seek various health-related consultations from the mobile healthcare operation team composed of nurses, nutritionists, and exercise therapists working at the district health center, and receive professional services such as weekly health information content.
The Mobile Healthcare 2nd Program is scheduled to run from the end of this month until March next year.
Adults residing in Nam-gu or working or attending school there who have one or more health risk factors and can visit the health center on weekday mornings for preliminary, mid-term, and final checkups are eligible to participate.
However, those taking medication related to blood pressure and blood sugar are excluded from participation.
Recruitment is limited to the first 100 applicants, and the selection of program participants is expected to be finalized after a preliminary examination scheduled for the 21st.
A Nam-gu official said, “Because this program allows participants to check their health status in real time using information and communication devices, satisfaction and a sense of achievement among participants are very high,” and added, “We ask residents who wish to participate in the program to register promptly.”
