2nd Anniversary of the Automobile Damage Compensation Promotion Agency... Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport "Improving Civil Complaint Satisfaction"
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 3rd that the Automobile Damage Compensation Promotion Agency, which celebrated its 2nd anniversary, has made significant contributions to improving automobile mutual aid services and strengthening financial soundness.
The Promotion Agency was established in September 2018 as a non-profit foundation to systematically support the automobile damage compensation guarantee project and conduct inspections of mutual aid operators.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, since the establishment of the Promotion Agency, guidance at each compensation processing stage from accident reporting to mutual aid payment (insurance payment) has been standardized, and the introduction of the Safe Call (reporting guidance), Intermediate Call (progress update), and Final Call (final result notification) systems has increased customer service satisfaction.
Satisfaction with civil complaint handling on the National E-People system improved from 44.4% before the transfer to the Promotion Agency to 61.7% as of the first half of last year.
Until now, only non-life insurance companies participated in joint investigations of insurance fraud, but a cooperative system was established with six mutual aid associations jointly participating, significantly enhancing the insurance fraud prevention capabilities of mutual aid associations vulnerable to insurance fraud.
By standardizing accounting treatment through unifying different financial statement formats and preparation methods across mutual aid associations, the usefulness of accounting information was increased, and key indicators for monitoring financial status were developed to strengthen financial soundness.
The Promotion Agency plans to continuously improve services by building a civil complaint processing system that allows applicants to view the progress at a glance and establishing standards for mutual aid dispute mediation.

The Promotion Agency will also participate in joint public-private inspections of hospitalized traffic accident patients to help prevent insurance payment leakage and plans to promote accident prevention projects for commercial vehicles considering the unique characteristics of each industry.
