Yoon Byung-seok, CEO of SK Gas, Joins the 'Flower Bucket Challenge'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Yoon-joo] Yoon Byung-seok, CEO of SK Gas Co., Ltd., participated in the Flower Bucket Challenge to help flower farmers struggling due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
On the 3rd, SK Gas announced that CEO Yoon Byung-seok sent air-purifying plants to 9 welfare centers located in Seongnam, Ulsan, and Pyeongtaek, which are sponsored by SK Gas, as well as to about 130 welfare workers and welfare center staff working there.
Since June, SK Gas has been providing space at SK Gas charging stations in cooperation with the flower cooperative in the Daejeon area to sell flowers in order to help flower farmers who have fallen into difficulties due to COVID-19. The air-purifying plants for this Flower Bucket Challenge were also purchased from the Daejeon area flower cooperative linked with SK Gas.
CEO Yoon said, "Although everyone is having a hard time due to COVID-19, I conducted this challenge to express gratitude for the efforts of welfare workers and welfare center staff who are working hard on the front lines for those in need." He added, "Although it is difficult now, I believe we will all overcome this soon and return to the pre-COVID-19 state."
The 'Flower Bucket Challenge' is a public campaign to promote flower consumption to help flower farmers who are economically struggling due to the cancellation of various events such as graduation and entrance ceremonies caused by COVID-19. It is conducted in a relay format by nominating the next participant.
