SK Telecom Wins 'Best 5G Commercialization' at the '5G World Awards'

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] SK Telecom announced on the 2nd (local time in the UK) that it won the 'Best 5G International Commercial Launch' award at the '5G World Awards 2020'.
The '5G World Awards 2020' is an event of the '5G World Summit 2020' hosted by the global ICT research organization Informa Telecoms & Media. This year, held online, it selected innovative 5G-related technologies and services in 15 categories.
SK Telecom was recognized for leading 5G technologies and services such as the world's first commercialization and the launch of AR·VR services, earning the 'Best 5G International Commercial Launch' award. In December 2018, it started the world's first 5G B2B service for enterprise customers, followed by the world's first 5G smartphone service commercialization for general customers in April 2019. Since then, it has been acknowledged for efforts to activate 5G services like Jump AR Zoo and develop ultra-high frequency communication technologies.
SK Telecom also set a record by winning the 5G World Awards for four consecutive years. Previously, it won the 'Best 5G Implementation with Partners' category in 2017, the 'Best Network Operator' category in 2018, and the 'Best Edge Computing Technology' category in 2019.
On the first day of the online '5G World Summit,' SK Telecom's Park Jong-gwan, head of the 5GX Technology Group, delivered a keynote speech titled 'Leading the Era of 5G Super Innovation,' sharing Korea's advanced 5G technology, services, and operational know-how with global companies leading 5G worldwide.
