According to The Guardian on the 2nd (local time), the royal couple announced in a joint statement that they had signed a content production contract with Netflix.
Under this contract, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will participate in the production of documentaries, films, shows, and children's programs, as well as appear personally.
The couple said, "As individuals and as a couple, our lives have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit, including courage, resilience, and the need for connection," adding, "Our focus is not only on providing information but also on creating content that gives hope."
They continued, "Just as it is important to create truthful and empathetic stories through a lens, it is also important as parents to create inspiring family programs."
Ted Sarandos, Co-CEO of Netflix, said, "Harry and Meghan have inspired millions around the world with their optimism and leadership, and we are proud that they have chosen Netflix as their home for creativity."
The Guardian predicted that the contract between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle would be similar to the one Netflix signed with former U.S. President Barack Obama and his wife in 2018.
The Obamas established the content production company 'Higher Ground Productions' in partnership with Netflix and released their first feature-length documentary, 'American Factory,' in August last year.
Earlier this year, Netflix also produced the documentary 'Becoming,' featuring Michelle Obama.
