[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) has established a 'Big Data Policy Map' that allows residents to view the district's current status big data by policy at a glance.
The 'Big Data Policy Map' is a map that visually represents various data related to the district's status by policy on a map, enabling a comprehensive view of various administrative conditions. It is intended to be used as a basis for policy formulation, evaluation of policy implementation effects, and promotional materials.
In March last year, the district launched the 'Seongdong Big Data Center' to support policy projects using big data. The center developed the 'Seongdong-gu Big Data Platform,' the first of its kind among local governments nationwide, which links, collects, stores, analyzes online and offline data, and shares and utilizes the results.
Currently, 122 big data sets across 13 fields are in use on this platform. The new policy map has been additionally built within the platform with a total of 7 themes and 182 maps categorized by policy.
The themes are ▲Vibrant Economy ▲Hopeful Education ▲Warm Welfare ▲Pleasant City ▲Safe Living ▲Kind Administration ▲Common Areas, comprising the seven policy goals of Seongdong. The content actively reflects policy issues such as job supply and demand status, our children's traffic safety, welfare blind spots, and smart crosswalk location analysis.
The policy map allows policy officers to conveniently view, download, and integrate status data and analysis results based on the map, and all department staff can apply and utilize it in policy projects.
Additionally, the big data platform integrates not only public big data and policy map themes but also general administrative data, which can be displayed and utilized together on the map.
