Dobong-gu Designated as a COVID-19 'Safe Restaurant'
Recruitment of 'Seoul-type Safe Restaurants' Complying with COVID-19 Response and Quarantine Rules Until the 18th
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) designates and operates restaurants that comply with essential quarantine rules as ‘Seoul-type Safe Restaurants’ to respond to COVID-19 and promote a healthy food culture.
This initiative aims to improve the vulnerable dining culture to infectious diseases, such as eating single-dish meals with personal spoons, and to create a healthy food culture so that consumers can visit restaurants with confidence.
Currently, there are about 2,400 general restaurants registered in Dobong-gu.
The main target is Korean food establishments handling single-dish meals, with selection criteria including ▲provision of utensils for sharing food separately ▲hygienic management of spoons ▲mandatory mask-wearing by employees, which are three essential quarantine rules.
Inspection teams, organized in pairs, visit the participating establishments on-site. If compliance with the three quarantine guidelines is confirmed, the establishment is designated as a Safe Restaurant.
Designated Seoul-type Safe Restaurants will receive benefits such as ▲issuance of Safe Restaurant designation stickers ▲support with hygiene supplies (hygienic masks, hand sanitizing tissues, containers for sharing food separately, etc.) ▲promotion on the Dobong-gu website.
The application deadline for Seoul-type Safe Restaurants is September 18.
Restaurants wishing to participate can fill out the ‘Designation Application Form’ on the Dobong-gu Office website under Notices & Budget and submit it via fax or email (tlsgusrud94@dobong.go.kr).
