Urgent Departmental Inspections and Maintenance Completed by the 2nd... On-Site Response Activities Including Rainwater Inlet Checks and Cleaning, Hazardous Tree Removal, and Pre-Inspection of Landslide-Prone Areas
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) has mobilized all staff for on-site response activities as Typhoon No. 9 "Maysak" is expected to enter its influence zone on the 3rd.
First, the district completed emergency inspections and maintenance by each department by the 2nd. To prevent damage from heavy rain and strong winds, hazardous trees (14 trees) along Yongmasan and Mangusan trails were removed, and banners, protruding signboards, and wall signboards (29 in total) were also taken down.
In addition, 3,151 rainwater inlet covers were removed to ensure smooth drainage, and prior inspections were completed for 7 rainwater pumping stations, 12 sluice gates, and 22 sedimentation basins.
Particularly, typhoon-risk facilities within the area were thoroughly checked. Inspections were completed for 143 landslide-prone areas as well as 21 locations including road facilities, road slopes, and road construction sites.
Moreover, the district has prepared response plans according to the typhoon's progress. These include sending disaster safety text messages, operating a 24-hour disaster safety countermeasures headquarters, and organizing and operating emergency recovery teams composed of district office employees to prepare for risks such as casualties, flooding, landslides, and road damage.
