30s Woman Arrested and Sent to Prosecution for Strangling 60s Man to Death
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] A woman in her 30s, identified as A, who killed a man in his 60s at a park and fled after stealing valuables, has been sent to prosecution in custody.
The Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced on the 2nd that A, who was detained on charges of murder and theft, was sent to the prosecution with a recommendation for indictment on the previous day (1st).
On the 4th of last month, A first met the man in his 60s at Mangwon Hangang Park and followed him to his residence located in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Afterwards, A strangled the man to death, stole a gold necklace and other items, and fled. On the 10th of last month, the victim's landlord reported to the police that "the tenant was unreachable and there was a strange smell coming from the house."

Based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage near the crime scene, the police identified A as a suspect and arrested her at an undisclosed location in Gangwon Province on the 25th of last month. During the investigation, A reportedly stated, "The victim forced sexual relations excessively and insulted me, damaging my pride, which led me to commit the crime."
