'Junior Reporter Sexual Assault Allegation' Former TV Chosun Social Affairs Chief's Reconsideration Petition Dismissed
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] It has been confirmed that the request for reconsideration submitted regarding the former TV Chosun social affairs chief, who was dismissed on suspicion of sexually assaulting a junior reporter, has been dismissed. A request for reconsideration is a system that allows a court to review a prosecutor's decision not to indict.
According to the court on the 1st, the 31st Criminal Division of the Seoul High Court (Chief Judge Seonggeun Yoon) dismissed the request for reconsideration filed by victim A against the non-indictment decision for sexual assault by the former TV Chosun social affairs chief Lee.
The court stated, "Considering the case records and the materials submitted by the applicant, the prosecutor's decision not to indict is reasonable and acceptable," adding, "There is a lack of evidence to recognize the non-indictment decision as unjust."
With the court dismissing the request for reconsideration and A not filing an immediate appeal, the prosecutor's non-indictment decision regarding the case has been finalized.
