Appointment of Attorney Ko Young-kwon as New Deputy Governor for Political Affairs of Jeju Island
Active Communication and Dynamic Policy Implementation Expected to Serve as a Bridge for Provincial Residents
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Chang-won] Jeju Province appointed Ko Young-kwon, former representative lawyer of the law office ‘Cheong-eo-ram,’ as the new Deputy Governor for Political Affairs and presented the appointment letter on the 1st.
The appointment of the new Deputy Governor for Political Affairs, Ko Young-kwon, follows the personnel hearing held by the Jeju Provincial Council on August 28, conducted at the request of Jeju Province after his designation as the Deputy Governor candidate on July 22.
At the time of Ko Young-kwon’s designation, Jeju Province explained the background by stating, “Based on 12 years of experience as a lawyer and youthful passion, we expect him to actively communicate and lead proactive, on-the-ground policies regarding various pending issues.”
During the hearing, Deputy Governor Ko also emphasized communication and collaboration to create new breakthroughs in the primary industry, expressing his ambition: “I will utilize my experience and capabilities as a legal professional to institutionalize necessary areas through legal norms, while exercising political functions to establish the foundation for tangible administration.”

The new Deputy Governor for Political Affairs, Ko Young-kwon, is a native of Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju City. He graduated from Gosan Elementary and Middle Schools, Daegi High School, and Seoul National University College of Law, and after completing the Judicial Research and Training Institute, he has worked as a lawyer.
