The meeting was an expanded executive meeting attended by department heads, regional headquarters directors, and branch managers, conducted via a non-face-to-face video conference.
As of 1 PM on the 1st, the corporation raised the emergency response level of the Disaster Safety Comprehensive Situation Room to the critical stage and began emergency duty. Since the 28th, when Maysak formed about 1000 km northeast of Manila, Philippines, and was expected to move toward Korea, the corporation has been conducting pre-release of reservoirs with water storage rates above 70%, and urgent inspections of 1,077 construction sites and 942 drainage stations.
For reservoirs damaged by long rainy seasons and heavy rains, such as embankment slope erosion, and vulnerable facilities including D-grade reservoirs, measures such as draining reservoir water and covering vulnerable sections with waterproof sheets have been taken, along with strengthened surveillance activities. Among 56 drainage stations that stopped operating due to flooding during the rainy season, 45 have been restored, and for the remaining 11 stations where restoration is incomplete due to repairs of distribution panels and drainage pumps, underwater pumps and large-scale water pumps have been deployed on-site.
Additionally, flood control materials necessary for emergency restoration of damaged facilities have been stocked, and a close emergency communication system is maintained with related local agencies to prepare for power outages at drainage facilities. The policy is to minimize damage through prompt response even if damage occurs.
