Seocho-gu Recruiting 'Climate Change Safety Leaders'
Recruiting 50 Internet-Savvy 3040 Generation Participants for Untact Method Suitable for the COVID-19 Era
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Seocho-gu (Mayor Eunhee Jo) is recruiting 'Seoripul Climate Change Safety Leaders' who directly create and deliver information on district policies and eco-friendly lifestyle practices in response to rapidly changing climate conditions such as heatwaves and fine dust.
The recruitment for 'Seoripul Climate Change Safety Leaders,' starting from the 1st, aims to select a total of 50 people. Any residents in their 30s and 40s within the district who are interested in environmental issues and proficient in using the internet and SNS can apply.
Applications can be submitted by phone or email (cesser@seocho.go.kr) to each neighborhood community center or the Climate Environment Policy Team of the Green Environment Division at Seocho-gu Office.
This initiative is an expansion of the Blue Seocho Environmental Practice Group formed in 2015. It adds residents skilled in SNS activities to the environmental leaders who previously operated with 2-3 members per neighborhood, aiming to promote contactless activities suitable for the COVID-19 environment.
Main activities include ▲creating internet content ▲delivering climate response information using SNS and other platforms ▲field visits related to climate response ▲and activities of the Blue Seocho Environmental Practice Group, focusing on contactless activities appropriate for the COVID-19 environment.
Safety leaders will directly create internet content on topics such as the district’s climate response specialized projects, energy saving, and environmental conservation, and will engage through various channels like SNS and Band based on the created content.
Additionally, they will conduct field visits to climate response sites. These include IoT-based noise and dust monitoring locations, the special management zone project site for fine dust at the Express Bus Terminal, and recycling sorting facilities, to convey practical lifestyle methods to residents.
After activities, a modest activity allowance will be provided, and outstanding participants will receive commendations.
Earlier, in July, the district established the 'Seocho-type Green New Deal Policy,' consisting of three areas: ▲building empathy and participation infrastructure ▲advancing green policies ▲expanding green infrastructure, to proactively develop climate change response policies reflecting local characteristics in line with the government’s Green New Deal announcement.
The 'Seoripul Climate Change Safety Leader' project was prepared as part of the 'building empathy and participation infrastructure' within the Seocho-type Green New Deal.
