Gwangju University Extends Non-Face-to-Face Online Classes Until October 16
Midterm Exam Format and Other Details to Be Announced Later
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju University (President Kim Hyukjong) announced on the 31st that it will extend non-face-to-face online classes until October 16 due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19.
On the same day in the afternoon, Gwangju University held a meeting with the student council, student autonomous organizations, and representatives of each college, and decided this after a resolution by the academic committee.
This additional non-face-to-face class policy was prepared to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the region and on campus, due to concerns that the large-scale population movement expected during the Chuseok holiday period could lead to a mass infection outbreak.
Accordingly, Gwangju University, which had planned to conduct the second semester classes of the 2020 academic year online for the first two weeks after the semester started, will operate online classes until before the midterm exam period.
Details regarding the midterm exam format will be announced to students later.
Non-face-to-face online classes apply to all departments and will be conducted through real-time video classes (ZOOM) or video lectures produced by the university professors using eCampus.
