Committee Held on the 28th, Decisions on Selection Process and More
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Namwon City, Jeonbuk, is selecting and rewarding outstanding public officials who have demonstrated proactive administration to overcome difficult situations such as COVID-19 and heavy rains.
On the 31st, the city announced plans to select outstanding public officials in the second half of the year who have worked hard to resolve the economic recession caused by COVID-19, overcome crises, and engage in flood recovery efforts through proactive administration, and to award them accordingly.
To this end, on the 28th, the 'Namwon City Proactive Administration Support Committee' was held to establish the selection procedures and reward plans for outstanding public officials through citizen recommendations and online and offline citizen evaluations.
The Proactive Administration Committee was established following the government's enactment of operational regulations by presidential decree in August last year to encourage proactive administration by public officials. Namwon City also recognized the need to establish a culture of proactive administration within its administrative organization and prepared an operational ordinance in December last year.
The committee is composed of the Vice Mayor as the chairperson, seven civilian members, and six ex officio members. It undertakes tasks such as establishing the Namwon City proactive administration implementation plan, selecting outstanding public officials, and providing pre-consultation advice on proactive administration.
Chairman Heo Taeyoung (Vice Mayor of Namwon City) stated, "We will create an atmosphere where all public officials in Namwon City can work proactively by preparing and supporting various measures that favor actively working public officials."
