Hanil Cement CEO Jeon Geun-sik Joins 'Thanks Challenge' to Overcome COVID-19

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Jeon Geun-sik, CEO of Hanil Cement, participated in the 'Thanks Challenge' to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) along with employees.
Hanil Cement announced on the 31st that CEO Jeon and the employees joined the Thanks Challenge to deliver messages of respect and support to medical staff and quarantine officials dedicated to overcoming COVID-19.
The Thanks Challenge is a campaign started by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to encourage medical personnel who are devoted to treating and preventing the spread of COVID-19. It proceeds in a relay format by sharing photos of sign language gestures expressing respect and gratitude for medical staff along with supportive messages, and nominating three people to participate in the next campaign.
CEO Jeon was nominated by Jung Kyu-jin, CEO of POSCO Terminal, and recommended Park Chan-jung, CEO of SK Discovery, Lee Seung-mo, Head of Taeyoung Construction, and Jung Joo-young, Chairman of Miraein Co., Ltd. as the next participants.
CEO Jeon said, "I am always thankful and grateful to the medical staff working hard nationwide," adding, "Through this campaign, I want to convey a message of hope that we can overcome the crisis if we all work together."

Meanwhile, Hanil Cement donated 100 million KRW to the National Disaster Relief Association in March to participate in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and recovering damages. The company also donated goods worth a total of 20 million KRW to Danyang-gun, where the cement production plant is located, including 10 million KRW in cash, 1,000 masks, 50 bottles of disinfectant for quarantine, and 200 hand sanitizers.
