Same-Day Part-Time Jobs Filled in 30 Minutes... CU Partners with 'Geupgu' Service
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] BGF Retail, the operator of CU, has partnered with Nider, which runs the job application ‘Geupgu,’ to support the same-day recruitment service ‘CU Geupgu’ starting from September 1. This service enables stores to quickly hire workers even when sudden staffing gaps occur.
Unlike general job apps that recruit workers for more than three months, CU Geupgu specializes in short-term part-time job recruitment ranging from as short as one hour up to three months. This service does not simply match workers but analyzes workers’ profiles and matching history to prioritize recommending suitable personnel for the stores.
The biggest advantage of CU Geupgu is its fast matching speed. Store owners who need same-day part-time workers can use the ‘Recommended Workers’ feature within the app to be matched with job seekers within a 10 km radius of the store in an average of less than 30 minutes. To request same-day attendance, the ‘Quick Attendance Request’ feature can be used.
Job seekers can also use this service effectively. Even if they are not contracted with a store, they can provide emergency staffing support and increase their income whenever they want to work.
To commemorate this partnership, CU will provide premium usage vouchers worth 55,000 KRW per month free of charge to all 14,000 stores nationwide until the end of this year. To recruit staff, users can access the ‘CU Convenience Store Brand Section’ from the home screen of the Geupgu app.
The reason CU offers this short-term worker recruitment service is to provide a platform that allows store owners to quickly hire staff even when unexpected vacancies occur, thereby enhancing the convenience of store operations. In fact, during holidays and school opening seasons, staff turnover is frequent, causing store owners difficulties in finding replacement workers.
CU plans to integrate CU Geupgu with the comprehensive labor management app ‘Toegeunhae CU’ by the end of September to provide a one-stop staff management system that covers everything from recruitment to payroll calculation.

Im Jihoon, head of the BGF Retail Win-Win Support Team, said, “Staff management is one of the important tasks in store operation, and we expect this partnership to greatly help store owners manage their stores. As a partner walking the same path as franchise owners, the headquarters will continue to develop various store support programs that can strengthen win-win relationships.”
