Won Hee-ryong "Ban on gatherings of 3 or more people in Jeju-do"
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Won Hee-ryong, Governor of Jeju Province, has significantly strengthened the 'ban on gatherings of 10 or more people' to a 'ban on gatherings of 3 or more people' in order to strictly crack down on illegal parties at guesthouses in Jeju amid the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The governor instructed to immediately issue an administrative order prohibiting gatherings of three or more people at guesthouses in the province.
Jeju Province had previously issued a ban on gatherings and parties of 10 or more people on the 28th to block illegal nighttime parties at guesthouses.
However, some guesthouses have been recruiting party participants of fewer than 10 people through SNS (social networking services), which hinders COVID-19 prevention efforts, and this is interpreted as a reason for issuing a more strengthened measure to completely block such activities.
