Jeju 43rd and 44th COVID-19 Confirmed Cases Reported
One More Person Added with Same-Day Visit History as Pastors Couple of Sanbangsan Carbonated Hot Springs No. 29 and 33
Patient No. 35 (GoBrewBeerCompany Operator) Confirmed Positive During Self-Quarantine
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Chang-won] Jeju Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 30th that 2 new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed.
At around 2:20 PM on the same day, Jeju Province was notified of this fact by the Provincial Health and Environment Research Institute and immediately launched an epidemiological investigation.
The 43rd confirmed case, Mr. A, is a family member of the 35th confirmed case (operator of Goburu Beer Company), who was diagnosed with COVID-19 at 4:10 AM on the 26th. The 44th confirmed case, Mr. B, was confirmed positive after undergoing testing following a visit to Sanbangsan Carbonated Hot Springs located in Sagyeri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo City.
Mr. A, the 43rd confirmed case, was diagnosed positive while under self-quarantine as a family member of the 35th confirmed case.
After testing negative in the first test on the 25th, Mr. A developed a fever starting on the 29th during self-quarantine and visited Seogwipo City Health Center at 5:12 PM, where a specimen was collected and later confirmed positive.
Mr. B, the 44th confirmed case, stated that he had visited Sanbangsan Carbonated Hot Springs on the 23rd.
After receiving a disaster safety text message related to testing for hot spring visitors, Mr. B visited Seogwipo City Health Center at around 4:20 PM on the 29th and revealed that he had visited the hot springs on the same day as the pastor couple (29th and 33rd confirmed cases). Following testing, he was confirmed positive.
The provincial quarantine authorities plan to immediately disclose information identified after conducting epidemiological investigations on the movements, contacts, and visited locations of the 43rd and 44th confirmed cases, and will proceed with disinfection measures at the visited sites.

As of the afternoon of the 30th, Jeju Province has confirmed a total of 44 cases. Currently, 237 tests are underway, and the number of people in self-quarantine includes 378 contacts of confirmed cases and 219 overseas arrivals.
