Chosun University Holds 'College-wise Academic Operation Meeting' for COVID-19 Response
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University announced on the 30th that the ‘Faculty-specific Academic Operation Meeting’ was successfully held to prepare for the upcoming 3rd cycle University Basic Competency Diagnosis and to explore academic operation measures to effectively respond to the COVID-19 infectious disease.
The meeting was held sequentially by faculty, starting with the College of Engineering on the 25th and ending with the College of Medicine on the 27th.
President Min Youngdon, Dean of Academic Affairs Hwang Yunyong, the Academic Operation Team/E-learning Support Team from the central administrative departments, as well as deans and full-time faculty members of each college attended.
Park Changwook, head of the Academic Operation Team, shared the preparation status for the 3rd cycle University Basic Competency Diagnosis and provided guidance on the class methods and online lecture standards for the second semester of the 2020 academic year, as well as an overview of academic operations for the second semester of 2020.
He also explained the electronic attendance system, which will be fully implemented from the second semester of the 2021 academic year. The electronic attendance system manages attendance via smartphones and other devices and was introduced to ensure fair and reliable attendance management.
Additionally, the E-learning Support Team explained that they operate the ‘CU ON(溫)line Learning Assistant Archive,’ which allows anyone easy access to materials related to online classes. It is a collection of resources designed to improve the quality of online class content and help students participate effectively in online classes.
After the presentation by the head of the Academic Operation Team, a Q&A session was held to listen to the opinions of members and the difficulties faced in the educational field.
